As an artist trying to share his story I felt it was time to encourage him to push his boundaries and share a part of him that the public rarely sees.
Usually only seen by the public when the pain is lower and the alertness is more at a functional level, this image was taken first thing in the morning.
He might have slept but he wakes in pain feeling fatigued and vulnerable.
So often we only see people at their best and rarely get to see people when they most need to be part of a supportive community.

This image was created for the Body of Work Exhibition at Backspace Gallery which ran 8 October – 1 November 2015 along side the Archibald Exhibition in the Ballarat Art Gallery.

It then sat covered up in storage for a year before being re exhibited at the Grampians Region Art Competition and Exhibition – Ballarat Community Health Lucas Camus in November 2016 which it won first place.

Limited Edition of 3 metal prints 12"x18" Only 2 left available.
