Flashback Fridays 26 1

Wow what a year it has been. 1 year ago on the 4th June I went along to videotape local uni students performing the tank man tango. They were commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Protests.

In 2009, artist, Deborah Kelly initiated a viral dance performance called the Tank Man Tango. It was intended to keep the memory of the Tiananmen Square massacre in public consciousness.

The dance was organised by Sylvia Hollis and it was through me rocking up to film this for them just to record something going on in the community that I met my illustrator.

It’s hard to quantify that it’s only been 366 days since then, so much has happened in that time. I mean we even found time to get married to help out the local volunteer fire fighters. Some Shorter than Others was launched and is now available in Spanish and still being translated into Portuguese and German.  She’s chomping at the bit to draw the illustrations for the next one so stay tuned ….

What have you achieved this past year that you would like to share?
