Rounding out this month series in high school I discovered Larry and Stretch.  The brain child of Leonard Frank Meares who wrote these under the name of Marshall Grover.

Larry Valentine and Stretch Emerson stood out to me for their old fashioned no no-nonsense way of life.  An Australian author Loenard Frank Meared wrote over 700 books over his career.  Larry and stretch’s nomadic lifestyle appealed to me as much then as I think it does now.  Always discovering new places and meeting new people.

It was a rough existence but it was how they wanted it and in each new story they helped out someone who needed their assistance.
