The big 60, and a big issue of Tuesday Tunes.
A couple of days late due to my schedule this week and the power adapter for my laptop dying.
Sitting in a room with hundreds of people watching your film is a memorable experience. It’s something that has only happened a few times. This time was the first time I got to sing along to a song I’d written with so many people. I thought I was mouthing the words quietly but the person sitting next to me asked me when it ended if it was mine, I obviously wasn’t quiet enough. The silence as everyone watched it was as memorable as the laughter that filled the room as another finalists movie was played. There were others highlighting peoples creative talents and wonderful sense of humour but “I Committed Gluttony” by Michael Zamperoni, was easily my favourite.
The wait continues for the awards day on the 29th September to see if either of my films this year win any prizes. While on these films I can share with you that a longer version of “Fly Again Little Dreamer” which featured in the “Endless Refrain – The Journey So Far” film, is scheduled to be released in November.
It’s been an interesting few weeks watching four of the songs from “Gust” climb into the top 10 watched videos on Endless Refrain’s youtube channel. At the time of writing “Family” has moved into the number 3 spot, “I Miss” and “LBF” and 5 and 6, with “Will There Be Lemon Meringue Pie In Heaven” in 8th spot. 4 of the other spots are songs from “Fool” giving those two albums 8 out of the top 10 spots.
On Rumble “Oh America” is still the number one song by a large margin.
The 60th Tuesday Tunes, post also coincides with the 9th album I’ve written for Endless Refrain. Every album has been a different experience and this was no different. Working with a new co writer and an artist for the “9” paintings was a change. It’s the quickest I’ve written all the songs for an album from scratch and a feat I never plan to repeat. They were written and then recorded in the order they appear on the album, also something that is unlikely to happen again. Alternating between sitting and laying down while writing them, to deal with the pain, is something I am looking forward to not having to do after my next surgery. The animated paintings only take minutes to watch but I spent half a day trialing different methods of animating them, before arriving at what you get to experience.
The first video to be released from “9” is “Heart”. For all the ways to listen check out Endless Refrain’s website or watch below, don’t forget to like it, and leave a comment, and share it, to help others discover it.
The second video to be released from “9” is “Courageous”. For all the ways to listen check out Endless Refrain’s website or watch below, don’t forget to like it, and leave a comment, and share it, to help others discover it.
Next Tuesday the 10th September, the videos for “Honest” and “Genuine” premiere at 7am and 7pm.
Endless Refrain’s album “9” is released at midnight on Saturday 14th, on streaming platforms.
A day earlier if you are a collector of Endless Refrain’s songs on sound.xyz
While you continue to enjoy “9”, I’ll continue working on the videos for “Octagon” as “Project 104” draws to a close.
