Continuing this months series of authors and characters that kept me company in my earlier years this week we flashback to when I was in primary school. I can still remember sitting with my back against the bookshelf that ran the length of the classroom under the window and spend many a lunch time deep in a the pages of an Encyclopedia Brown mystery. No ghost writers this time, they were all written by Donald J. Sobol.
I remember the experience of reading them more than the details of the stories themselves so many years later. i doubt they would hold the same fascination now if I re read them but they sure held my interest with a tight grip back then.
Which book couldn’t you put down as a child?
