Happy International Men’s Day!
It’s been a big week since the last update. I don’t know who’s lit a fire under “A Dusty Treasure Chest” but after lagging well behind “3 Billion” in views a couple of weeks ago, it’s rocketed into Endless Refrain’s all time top 10 videos after the weekend. Today it’s threatening to take the number two spot away from “Family”. If it keeps up this momentum it could take the number one spot from “Fervent”.
This is a classic example of perseverance and not giving up. I wrote “A Dusty Treasure Chest” last year. The spoken word video version has been released for over a year now and has had less than 1/6th the views, Endless Refrain’s version has had in two weeks. It reminds me of years ago when I entered a photograph in an exhibition and it didn’t win anything. A year later I entered it in another exhibition and it won.
In both cases I could have given up. I could have thought what I created wasn’t good enough to connect with people. Yet in both cases I would have underestimated the impact both works could have.
At the start of this year I couldn’t have written the songs I have for Endless Refrain’s Christmas Album. It’s a rollercoaster of emotion as Christmas means different things for different people. After 12 months of working so hard at learning the craft of song writing, producing and video creating I can’t wait to share them with you. If I hadn’t started this blog series 70 weeks ago when all I was posting was the written text of what I was writing, I might never have led to creating the spoken word videos. If I never started making the spoken word videos, I probably wouldn’t have started Endless Refrain and have now worked on 12 albums. So whatever you are working on, keep at it. Learn as you go and keep improving.
Endless Refrain’s album “Still Standing” came out on Thursday so if you haven’t heard all the songs yet you now can. Today the next two music lyric videos premiered “Light It Up” and “Walk On Water”.

Unlike the first four songs on the album, “Light It Up” doesn’t have a previous incarnation of a spoken word video. Nor does “Walk On Water” which has an interesting backstory. I was searching for something I penned years ago that I wanted to craft into a song for Endless Refrain. Finding it in digital or physical form was proving difficult. Months later I eventually did find it and hopefully you will get to hear that song on their Valentine’s Day album next year, which now looks like it will be a double album. In recalling the memories that I could access I ended up writing “Walk On Water”.

Have you enjoyed the sunrise that continues through all the videos on “Still Standing”? The final two videos from the album “Fly Again Little Dreamer (Extended Mix)” and “Shrapnel Flowers” premiere next Tuesday.
Until next week here’s an exclusive sneak preview of Endless Refrain’s Christmas album “We Made It”.
