And the winner is..   Recently updated !

In the last update I shared the exciting news that “F.O.A.” had been officially selected for Lands End – Festival of Film 2026 which was held on Sunday night over on the other side of Australia. No one surprised me with flights and accommodation so I had to wait till this morning to find out I WON!!!

Over all 9 categories they received 1415 short film submissions. This was narrowed down to a total of 38 films for screening. Of all the films submitted 300 were animations. 7 animations were selected for the Festival. F.O.A. won the animation category.

“Congratulations from all of us at LANDS END – Festival of Film.

We are delighted to let you know that your film, F.O.A. was judged the Best Amination Film
in our inaugural festival program.

Your work stood out for its creativity, craft, and devotion to telling a story in a compelling way.
It captured the audience visually and emotionally, holding their attention and leaving a lasting impression.
The care, imagination, and skill behind your filmmaking were clearly evident, and we are proud to recognise
your achievement.

LANDS END – Festival of Film was created to celebrate meaningful storytelling and the power of short films
to connect people through ideas, emotion, and place. Your film embodied that spirit beautifully.

Thank you for sharing your work with us and for being part of the inaugural festival. It was a privilege to screen
your film in Shark Bay, and we are pleased to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.”

And guess which of the trophies F.O.A. won?

The one with the lighthouse on it 🙂

Now I need to update the limited edition F.O.A. merch with this latest win. If you want a tshirt printed by me instead of spring contact me directly and don’t order through them 🙂

If your dedication has got you to the end of this update I’ll let you know that 30 film festivals so far that I’ve submitted to have not selected F.O.A. for their festival. If I’d given up after any of those no’s I wouldn’t have this win. Keep going.

And if you read this early enough there’s a bonus screening this weekend.
