I don’t want to be famous, I don’t want to be famous, I don’t want to be famous
Is it possible for a creatives work to be famous but for them not to be? How do famous people handle the pressure? It’s been an exhausting week. Friday night and Saturday morning I was tweaking the shooting schedule for my new film “Popcorn Love”. Saturday was spent shooting the film. Saturday night and Sunday and Monday was spent editing the film.
Sunday night I received the news that out of over 2,500 submissions “F.O.A.” had been officially selected for ICJ Award 2026, it will be screened on May 14th as part of their opening program, and will be featured at the red carpet event on September 12th at Uzhhorod Castle — one of the most iconic landmarks in western Ukraine It also includes “F.O.A.” being shown in 100 Ukrainian schools, including communities near the frontlines, as part of their Cinema in Schools program in collaboration with Max Sir International Film Festival.
Today I get the news that “F.O.A.” had been officially selected for Lands End – Festival of Film 2026 running on Sunday over on the other side of Australia. If anyone wants to get me there and back let me know. Over all 9 categories they received 1415 short film submissions. This was narrowed down to a total of 38 films for screening. Of all the films submitted 300 were animations. 7 animations were selected for the Festival. Yes I’m in tears. And I really hope I win one of their trophies these are so cool.
