What are you thankful for this year?

This will be my first year of sharing a Thanksgiving with someone. I’ve had American friends for over half my life and this year I actually received two invitations. Unfortunately I can’t accept both so I’ll be spending it with the friends that asked me first. Although it’s not something we traditionally celebrate here in Australia it has got me to thinking about some of the things I am thankful for.

I picked up a homeless hitch-hiker during the week and after helping them out I got home and curled up on the sofa with an ice cream. As much as I usually enjoy an ice cream it held extra significance that day. I had a house, I had electricity and a freezer and it had food in it. What everyday things do you take for granted that you could be extra thankful for?

I watched this short video during the week and I think you’ll agree with me it is as relevant now as when it was shot last year.

I may not be spending thanksgiving with my family but I am thankful I got to spend time with them this past week. I’m thankful for the friends that welcomed me into their home like I was family earlier this year that I will be spending thanksgiving with. I’m thankful I have a vehicle in good working order to get me to them and money in the bank to pay for the fuel. Let me know in the comments below what you are thankful for this year.
